Honesty is the best policy

Once a school boy named Anik was going home after Completing his school. On his way home, he came across a bundle of 500 taka notes lying beside a small bush. He stopped and looked around. He found nobody coming along the way. He took up the bundle and hid it in his pocket. He again looked around and there were none on the way. He then rushed home. His father was reading a newspaper in the living room. He found Amok sweating profusely. "Anything wrong, Amok?", he asked anxiously  "No, father I'm all right. But look, I've found a huge amount of money on my way home."
Amok took the bundle out to his father. "But why have you brought it home?. It's not yours." "Father, I thought, it must be mine because there were none on the way. I swear I looked for the owner of the money." "My son, only what you earn honestly is yours. This bundle must be dropped from a passer-by. You should have tried to find him out." said Alok's father Mr. Jalil. "Sorry father, I've not acted righteously. Now, let's find out the actual owner." Mr. Jalil gladly said," Thank you, my boy. Always remember that honesty is the best policy."

A friend of the mistress was waiting in the living room. The girl's cry got to her notice. She came on the spot and became surprised with the manner her friend was treating the girl. She told her friend, the mistress of the house that such kind of treatment was quite inhuman and punishable offence. She also told that a girl of that age should be in school. But fortune has forced her to work for living. So, she must be treated with due consideration. At that time, the house master entered the room. He also supported his wife's friend. Finally, the mistress of the house could get the point. She repented and promised never to be cruel to the girl. She also decided to send the girl to a nearby school for the under privileged children. At this the girl was very happy. An extra¬terrestrial impression of happiness came over her face.

The cats and monkey

One day two cats stole a piece of cake from the Kitchen of a householder. They had a dispute over their shares. As a result, they did not come to a decision how they. But all went in vain. Then they were about to fight with each other. At that time a monkey appeared there. He heard the whole thing and told the cats to give the cake to him. He gave them assurance that he would divide it equally among them. The monkey broke the cake into two pieces. But one piece grew a bit  larger than the other. He bit off a portion" from the large piece and it now became a bit smaller than the other piece. He bit off a portion from the second piece in order to make the two pieces equal. But the second piece grew smaller again that time. Thus the monkey tactfully ate the whole cake. The cats could understand their foolishness and were very sorry for losing their cake.
